As an estate agent, my car is more than just a means of transportation; it’s become my second office. In fact, there are weeks I probably spend more time in the car than at our physical office or even at home, travelling between appointments and viewings.
But every cloud has a silver lining and one of the perks of this travelling workspace, is it’s a great chance to catch up on whatever podcast I’m listening to at the time.
My podcast playlist predominantly revolves around business and entrepreneurship themes. Shows like Gary Keller’s “Think Like a CEO” and Guy Ranz’ “How I Built This’ have become my go-to audio companions.
However my current favourite is Steven Bartlett’s “The Diary of a CEO”. It’s unfiltered honesty, raw and authentic conversations with some of the world’s most influential people, experts and thinkers. Each episode delves into the untold truths, lessons and insights of these remarkable people.
Steven himself is also incredibly inspiring. Just a few years ago he was a broke, university dropout, but at 18 built an industry leading social media marketing company. He has since gone on to co-found Flight Story and the private equity fund, Flight Fund, dedicated to accelerating the next generation of European unicorns. Listening to him narrate his real-life experiences is both inspiring and inherently motivating.
While each episode is a conversation with a different guest, I have to admit I don’t listen to them all – instead I tend to gravitate towards those featuring entrepreneurs and business owners. I particularly enjoyed Steven’s interview with Daniel Elk, exploring his journey to co-founding Spotify including the significance of culture in business success. If I haven’t convinced you to give Podcasts a try, you can also watch the episode on YouTube, check it out below.
Now over to you. What do you listen to in the car? Drop me some podcast suggestions – I’m always on the lookout for fresh insights and captivating stories to accompany me on the road.
Thanks for reading,
Jamie
